Trip to Quantico

Couple of weeks ago me and the fam went up to West Virginia for a wedding and on the way back we had some time to kill so we stopped by Quantico just for grins. The crossroads was full so we go to the Q (Liversedge Hall) by the golf course to get a room. All they had was singles but they offered a room in Harry Lee Hall (the old Officers Club) for $33 a night. We lived in housing while at TBS and walked our dogs by Harry Lee Hall almost daily so we knew right where it was. The bottom floor is used by the promotion branch, the 2nd floor is more offices and the 3rd floor nothing but suites for transient 'big-wigs'. I wish I would have taken pictures of the room, it was amazing: living room with couch/hiddabed, recliner, enterainment system, table with full dining set, full-size fridge, stocked mini bar, microwave, desk, and the bedroom had a four-poster bed, huge dresser, walk in closet, the shower was all marble. Here are a few pics:

awesome food, even better atmosphere

Also swung by our old house up on the "300 block" there on base and was surprised to see it's enlisted housing now

Harry Lee Hall is an amazing place. An ex of mine came to visit me once while I was in Quantico on boat school summer training, and since the Crossroads was full (and thanks to no small amount of buttering-up the BOQ clerk), I got a room there. Definitely NOT motel 6. I'd say the furnishings were about the same as a very nice Marriot, if not better, and it was kind of cool to read the register of people who'd stayed in the same room. I definitely saw Gen. Gray in the book, among others.

It's the same building where they do many, if not all of the officer promotion boards. Great place to stay, a stone's throw from the base CG's house at the top of the hill.

You have to ask for it though, and it has to be when they're not expecting a lot of VIPs.

That's another thing, they've torn down about half of the Col/Gen houses and building new ones on top of the hill right up from Q town.

Harper Ferry. Good friend of mine is a Park Ranger up there. Nice area. We stayed in Shepherdstown and drove back and forth to Harpers Ferry for the wedding/rehearsal supper.

Thread resurrection!

The Crossroads is booked up. Anybody here ever stay in Liversedge? I think I may ask for Harry Lee Hall, but if this boot Lt can't get it, would Liversedge be adequate for a 5 day stay with the Warden?

I stayed at Liversedge for a couple of weeks and it isn't bad. Most of the rooms have been renovated and there is a small gym and hot tub there as well. Harry Lee Hall may be hard to get for 5 days as that place is mostly for higher ups. I felt fortunate to get a one night stay there.
