Two Dependant Questions

My girlfriend and I are planning on getting married fairly soon and I have two questions that I'm having trouble finding the answers for.

1. Can I use the CLRP to pay for my girlfriends college loans when she becomes my wife? I've read the MARADMIN and I wasn't clear on if it was possible. I have no student loans so I haven't taken it out, but I still have the opportunity to do so while I'm at TBS.

2. When I get down to Pensacola my girlfriend then wife will be staying in San Francisco to finish up her degree. She'll likely be there for six more months before she comes out to live with me. I've been trying to find information on geo bachelor status but haven't been able to find any, would I be able to et it, and what area would I be able to collect BAH for?

1. I'll defer this one.

2. Keep in mind if API is written as TAD then they owe you lodging and you receive BAH for wherever you are attached to before you leave. If PCS then.... Geo bachelor is requested from the base CO as he/she is ultimately responsible for justifying losing the room/income. It is routed through your CoC and they endorse it with the base CO having the final say so. Your situation is not uncommon and could be spun in a way to be approved. Get some help from someone in writing the request and try to find someone in your CoC to champion your cause. You aren't the first to try this so expect your CO's endorsement to carry a fair amount of weight with the Base CO. Expect to be stonewalled. That is why the write-up for the request and the CoC hookup are so important. In the end it will be up to the balance of % rooms available, the historical rate of occupancy, current USN policy to include local "policy" and the mood of the CO.

Every place is different.

Thanks for the info, that helps a lot. Like I said we are really only going to be apart for about six months so it may not be worth it, but it looks like I have some paperwork to start up if I'm going to try.
