Just thought I'd start rechecking the forums since the last time was early summer. I did not go with the ground contract for obvious reasons and worked through summer as well as more flying. I have a new OSO who is a straight forward guy, pretty stand up. The bad news thus far is that I have been Dq'd from the Jet Platform as pilot due to height, 5'4". Thankfully im still good for c-130 although I have been seriously been thinking about going with the NFO slot. My package is already done and we are submitting it to the next board, i believe October.

****...I'm 6 foot...u think I could land a pilot slot?? Might have been covered BEFORE but its being asked now...AGAIN!!! What are the average heights for jet pilots?

I'm 6'4" and 210lbs. I had a hard time with the TA-4J (got winged in it, but only through some shady anthro paperwork), but that's not a problem anymore. I fit just fine in the AV-8B, FA-18, T-45, and anything else I've ever sat in that I can recall.

I've seen some really short folks fly jets. If anything, they have it easier. I have seen a couple folks too short for AV-8Bs, but they were all female and 2 of them were really short (all short people look the same to me, so I don't know for sure how short). 5'6" should be good to go. Don't stress over it, or visit hightmax.com if you want to try and grow.
