Ups & Downs of Naval Aviation?

Hi All, Just looking for some frank bullets of information from those who are pilots - what are a few of the ups and downs in your experience as aviators in the military? How did your perspective before you became accepted as an SNA change with your experience as you went through the steps? Sorry if this question has been posted before, just looking for insight as usual. Thanks.

Go to this thread for starters...(the ups)

Then read this one...(the downs)

For most, the ups>the downs

The price you pay or endure to do something special that few can and work with people you'll seldom find anywhere else while serving your country = priceless

Just do it....I have met few people that after a career in Naval Aviation wouldn't want to do it all over

Thread reset. Keep it constructive. Thull, you get better responses with less general, more pointed questions.

Well, we go up and then we come down. That's sort of the gist of flying.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. :D

I'd rather go up and come down, than stay down. count me in. or I guess that's up to the board.
But on the other hand, it is far, far, better to be down here wishing you were up there than up there wishing you were down here . . .

...because when you're up you're up, and when you're down you're down. And when you're only half way up you're neither up nor down. :icon_tong Sorry
