US troops raided the Iranian consulate in Irbil at about 0300 (0100 GMT), taking away computers and papers, according to Kurdish media and senior local officials.

Five US helicopters were used to drop troops on the roof of the consulate building, according to an Iranian website close to the revolutionary guards.

Vehicles cordoned off the access roads while troops broke down the front door, arrested five men inside and confiscated computers and documents, it said.

Interesting. Isn't this an act of war? I mean obviously we can go right back to '79 and claim they ignored the conventional wisdom on the subject first...

Article(s) below have slightly more information, mention that we've detained 5 or 6 (depends on who you ask) Iranians.

Airborne All the Way!!!
This morning on my way into work KRLD radio interviewed retired Army Special Forces Master Sgt Jess Johnson. He said that within the last several weeks U.S. Special Forces had captured 2 Iranian Special Forces members along with a bunch of information on their contacts & cash.

Perhaps the two incidents are related.
