And they've been trying to justify their existence ever since…
Kind of a random point, but I've always found it ironic how in WWII, the German air force was its own separate branch (Luftwaffe) from the army (Heer) yet was basically a tactical air force. They had no real strategic bombers or anything like that. Meanwhile, the U.S. air force was both a tactical and strategic air force, yet was a part of the army.
Uh huh. OK.
I see a lot of Dept of Navy aircraft refueling off of USAF assets.
i rarely see the opposite.
Two years ago, the Navy did this.
