USMC ECP Aviation

Hello all,
I’m currently a Sgt (about to pick up SSgt) applying for ECP on the board in June. I’ve taken and passed the ASTB and am in the process of getting NAMI approval, nothing crazy yet. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on the USMC ECP SNA contract. I understand you have to sign a ground contract as well as the SNA but it is also my understanding that there are some SNA spots reserved for ECP Marines. Does anyone know anything about that or how getting an SNA spot works for ECPers?

Hey man, unfortunately no more information as to how they select ECP SNAers. The next board MARADMIN will drop in December of this year and the next board will convene around April timeframe. I’d get your stuff down now though.
Unfortunately I was medically disqualified due to a fire ant allergy so I will just be submitting an ECP ground contract.

Wait what? "Fire ant allergy" is DQ from aviation but not ground?

Um, other than in Hunters Cove in Kingsville, I had never had to deal with fire ants. F

And I'm pretty sure no one in aviation has fire ants as a common occurrence. I've never seen one on an airplane.

Grunts though- they sleep outside in places that will have them.

No kidding! I thought everyone was allergic to fire ants. The bastards nearly ate me to death a few times in the Corps.
