I’m fairly new to the OCS applicant process, so I apologize ahead of time. I want to apply for an air contract in the USMC. I need LASIK to qualify for vision and I have it scheduled in a couple weeks. I have to wait 6 months after my procedure to submit a packet. The earliest board I can apply for is March 2026, but my OSO recently told me that he only has one spot for an air contract that board and that there is an applicant with a competitive packet trying for it. I understand I have time to build a more competitive one, but can someone explain how the board process works? Is it typical to have a limit on how many air contracts a recruiting office can submit for a board?
