Took some pics of the Academy during my IFS solo last year, thought I'd post 'em. Enjoy! (oh, and the last 2 pics are of Tom Clancy's house in Annapolis... can you see the WWII tank he has in his front yard?!?!)

Hey, Gman, that's not Lee airport, is it? If so, that's where I took my first bunch of flight lessons...a long time ago. Man, I'm getting old.

It's actually Freeway Airport (Bowie, MD). ...and the 2,420' x 40' runway makes my landings at Whiting much easier! haha

Sweet...those are a stroll down amnesia lane. Funny story that I'm sure will get me laughed at...

I spent a year at St. John's College across the street from the USNA before I knew what the hell I was doing with my life. Odd school, although I have some good memories from there and miss Annapolis like crazy sometimes. Awesome town.

BTW...I used to teach sailing at the Annapolis Yacht Club and during a "social function" I was invited to there, got to meet Tom Clancy...general consensus round the campfire is that he is a raging prick.

yup.... right on the ADIZ line. Yeah, I flew into Easton and Salisbury on my XC.

W00 has a runway now? Last time I landed there it was a macadam covered cowpath that was occasionaly 40 wide.

The one right at the end of the Bay Bridge was a little nuts too. Almost like Boston in that you are coming down on final over the water until the last couple seconds.

A friend of mine from college knew Clancy's son in high school and said the same things about him. Wonder if it runs in the family.
