Hello All,

This is my first post here on AW. I am no stranger though as I used a lot of the gouge put out on the site for the ASTB (thanks for all of that). So I suppose this is a question that everyone on here has had at some point in time and it is directed more towards prior enlisted guys since that is the situation that I am in. I sent my package off to Millington today and am wondering what the average times were between submission and notification of selection for most applicants. I am well aware of the 8 - 12 week timeline they provide you with prior to submission but I am still curious. I searched the threads and found nada....

SOML-
I don't have an answer on what your asking but I want to ask you some questions-
1. do you submit your package or is it the CCC?
2. is there any sort of cover letter or checklist that you included?
3. as per the instruction pilot is shown as 139x, is this correct?
Thanks alot for helping out.
You don't know how lucky you are to be in SD putting together your package.

SN B,

I submitted my package on my own. My CCC was a tool, I had the C.O.s reccomendation letter and he was aware that I was doing it all. As long as you have your CCCs email address on page one or two of the application you should be fine.

As for your second question, there is no cover letter or checklist that gets sent to Millington. You should email Wade Dych if you have NMCI. He is the civilian in Millington that screens all of the applications before they are passed on to the board. He has a checklist, not the old one which can be found online, that has everything you need and the order in which it should be submitted. If you do not get the checklist from Wade Dych do not trust it. I based my entire package off of a bad checklist and ended up doing a lot more work than I really needed to. If you want you can send me a PM on AW, I can forward you what he sent me.

I based a lot of my application on what friends of mine had done recently and been selected on. I put 139x, just as they had.

I think the problem with the whole process when it comes to guys like us is that the 1420.1A does not outline the steps very well and we are left to piece everything together for ourselves. That is why I think this forum is a great idea.
