Want to become SWO.. 29M 2.96 GPA DUI Waiver..

As the title states, hoping to go SWO in the Navy.. I'll be needing an age waiver (29M), and a DUI Waiver (misdemeanor 5.5 years ago). Recruiter said he won't want to work with me if I score below a 43 on the OAR. Scheduled to take it on 6/30. I know SWO isn't as competitive so wanted to see how my odds are looking. & Will I be able to make it to the August SWO board? I already passed my physical at MEPS 2 months ago when I initially spoke with a national guard recruiter.

First and foremost welcome to the forum.

With that said, please take the time to browse the forums to learn more about the process and where you may potentially stack against others.

Additionally, much of your questions can be fielded by your officer recruiter, he/she is the one who knows your status best more than anyone here.

Additional questions or follow on discussion, defer to the two recommendations above. Good luck.

Hopefully you’ve found the ASTB sub here and have started studying. If you want the highest ASTB score, you really need to put in the work and study your ass off for the test. Ten days is cutting it close… A few things that are important for your submission: Type of degree (STEM is ranked above non-STEM), GPA, ASTB OAR score, and motivation statement.

In your letter you should address your failure (DUI) and how you’ve learned and overcome the failure. There are lots of letters posted in this sub.

As @FormerRecruitingGuru stated, your OR should be a great resource for all your questions. Good luck.
