What are some reasons the OCS package would not get picked up..?

I am applying for these two: Supply and Cryptologic warfare.


Boards are coming up and I am unsure if I will be selected....
NAVY OAR SCORE= 44
Bachelors- Psychology (2020).
Masters of science psychology (2021).
Working on second masters in applied statistics (I finish in a few months).
Currently enlisted in the Air National Guard on the supply side, and I got my conditional release.
Received letter of recommendations from 05 and above who I personally work with.
I have gone on a few deployments.
Received airman leadership awards.

On the civilian side I work as a researcher in the day time. At night I work as a professor.

-What are some factor that would cause someone not to be selected...

Boards care most about your GPA and OAR. Next is age and any waviers. The biggest factor that decides selectionor not is how many spots the navy has to fill at the time you apply. So make yourself as competive as possible.

Program Authorizations

Check the program autohrizations (link above) for the designators you are applying for to see if you meet the minimum to apply. After that, do what you can to improve your OAR score and GPA as those are the biggest things. Certtain designators such as supply have immidiate selction which you should look into. I beleive that as long as you can get your OAR up to 50 you should qualify so long as your total cumlative GPA (undergrad all schools attended + masters, navy calculates it all as one GPA) is a 3.3 or higher, or if your masters program GPA is 3.0 or higher. You need to meet whatever age the program specifies and be eligable for security clearance and all that.

People can be denied for all sorts of things. History of drugs, criminal history, substatial debt in collection, failure to get security clearance, failure to pass MEPS or other medical requiremnts etc. Low GPA and OAR do not automatically mean you will be denied, as it depends on the needs of the navy at the time, but they can make you less compettive and lead to navy chosing someone with higher credentials.

@candycorn what are your GPAs? Your OAR score is low and you may consider re-taking the ASTB. What did your recruiter say?

Similar-ish to your last post, strongly encourage utilizing the search function to browse Supply and IWC board forums to see where you unofficially stack up. Similarly, your recruiter is a solid POC and can provide some guidance and feedback.

The search function is your friend, and no need to create multiple posts of things that can be easily found.
