I just took my ASTB test today. I scored a 41, I graduated from college with a 3.18. My recruiter was not at his office when I finished my test. Instead, his secretary was left to print out my scores make a copy and boot me out. I sent an e-mail to my recruiter a few hours later. I have yet to get a response. What the hell should I expect? I wanted to go into Navy intel. Navy intel likes a 50 or above on the ASTB. I wouldn't mind doing something else (surface warfare). My only concern is that I'm not getting any responses from my recruiter for anything. Has anyone else been in this situation? I haven't taken a physical or anything. The only thing that I have done so far is take the ASTB. What should I do know if I really want to get into OCS?

Take it easy man, it's Tuesday. Give the man a couple days to respond.

Intel is very, very hard to get into and they're taking more people from are prior enlisted than they are civilians and have been for the last couple fiscal years. Don't get your hopes up too much, but don't think that your scores are bad and won't get you into a program.

Also, don't me afraid to give your recruiter a call if you don't hear from him by Friday afternoon.

Relax for now man. You said you took it today, so give it some more time; your OR is probably busy. I don't think your OR would stop helping you either. Just check your email tomorrow and if he doesn't reply call him the next day or so. In the mean time, keep studying. I'm pretty sure you should take it again, no matter what your designation choices are.

Some ORs use your ASTB as a gauge of how competitive you are (I hear), so just let him know that you will be prepared next time and it was a good learning experience (no excuses if you can). Wait a month and take it again. Or ask him if your scores are competitive enough to send in your packet for SWO/Intel. -I recommend asking that, since if you don't get in you can re-take it and send in again next month.

Keep studying and reading the gouge. You will do much better with what you know under your belt and a good extra month's studying. GL

You've seen the test once. Now you know what to expect next time. Study, and take it again. Persistance pays off.

Your primary concern should be studying harder and improving your score. Unless I misread your post, you're freaking out because the guy didn't reply to your email after a few hours. I'm sure he's very busy so cut him some slack.

OR are usually very very busy and sometimes do not reply the same day! Leave a message, and call the next day. Be persistent, but not to the point of being annoying. You MUST retake the ASTB, hell I got a 53 and I want to retake it, but the OR is telling me I do not need to do so.
