This is an inquiry as to what the daily life of GTX is like. Yes I have heard from some that it is hell. But do you get liberty? Do you get paid? What do you do? PT? Clean? Any info would be great. I feel like alot of people bring up GTX, but people do not know what it is.

You get liberty if you were secured before you went in. You have to PT unless you are med down. Yes you get to wash yourself and you also get paid. What it amounts to is waking up at 5:00am go PT then sit around until chow. After chow you "fly back to your spaces to proceed with the plan of the day" which is sitting around waiting till chow yet again. This is repeated two more times. Thats about it.

Whats with the blown cover???? I am out right now. I was in GTX for two weeks, student pool for another two weeks while I was being outprocessed. I am so civilian right now I sleep in till 6:00am every morning! I guess I was the results of the "needs of the Navy" policy.

I believe I will be in the adjustment phase for a long time. I think I will pursue my life long dream of migrant farm working. I also hear Burlington Northern Santa Fe is looking to fill the opening for a chief hobo. That would be a sweet gig, all the can corn you could eat and a new bridge to sleep under each night....that's the life.

Good to hear that you are keeping your options open! You can always be an assitant manager at a Taco Bell, working the night shift no less, and your boss would be like 17, talk about potential!

Seriously, best of luck in your future endeavors.

webmaster,

any news on a possible stoploss for the Navy? i, along with many others, am in the middle of being administratively seperated for not staying in flight school (OCS commissionees) and was wondering if a stoploss would affect us if it did occur. they just told us this past week to go ahead and take Administrative leave until they get all the paperwork completed, and they will just mail it to us.

any comments. thanks in advance.

Matt

I have seen it affect all my Marine buddies out here. But nothing affecting Navy, everyone has been arriving and detaching on PCS orders, as normal as can be. The only thing that is the same every year is all the PCS $$ drying up quickly....

No, if stoploss went into affect, it should not pertain to you, so I wouldn't be too concerned about that. That is just a guess on my part, who knows what the stoploss means to the ppl at bupers...
