When to apply? SNA

I am hoping to get some good info on when I am eligible to apply straight to OCS. I have found this thread....
http://www.airwarriors.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10778
which states, "For straight OCS it is usually 12 months from graduation." (thanks wink), but what does "usually" mean?

My recruiter is telling me that he thinks I can not apply till I get my final transcripts, which in my case would be next May, when I graduate. He says he is not sure and is looking into it, but he is a busy man so I thought I would post here.

I would like to get my app in for the January boards so that if I don't make it I will be able to reapply shortly after graduation.
For a bit of background, I have already put together an entire app, going after BDCP, but was told when I applied (this last summer) that they were not accepting age waivers for the BDCP program (I'm prior Air Force, and I turn 27 this December). So getting my package together shouldn't take much time.

Just trying to apply early, apply often, and apply until I am accepted. Going for SNA. Thanks

You can apply within 12 months of graduation. All you have to do is get proof from the school that you will be done within that time frame and you should be able to apply.

I concur. My official degree date is December because I had to transfer in courses from the community college that I took this summer and I didn't make the cutoff date for summer grad. MY recruiter said this is fine as long as I submit my official transcript which shows I am set to graduate next month and have met all the requirements.

What I am wondering though is if the January board has a more competitive pool then feb's board... I'm thinking about putting off a month just in case....
