And that's the perfect mindset to be in, man. This stuff doesn't happen overnight. If anyone thinks that the path to the cockpit of a military plane is quick and seamless... it's not, quite the opposite actually. As they say, "Blood, sweat, and tears". I've personally only seen the tip of the iceberg with this application process. And I know from being on this forum and doing my own research, it will take a decent amount time and perseverance to get to the finish line and be assigned to my first squadron. That's years down the road. It will take commitment and patience. But, like you said, if this really is something that you TRULY want and are destined for, you'll dig deep down and do whatever it takes until you are either told not to apply anymore or you finally get those gold wings pinned to your chest.
There's a quote from Harvey Mackay that I really like to look at from time to time....
“When you have a dream that you can’t let go of, trust your instincts and pursue it. But remember: Real dreams take work, They take patience, and sometimes they require you to dig down very deep. Be sure you’re willing to do that.”
