I wrote this post awhile back but its still plenty relevant

OCS packing list 2022

At OCS, you will keep all your belongings that are not on display locked in a drawer around ~4ft x ~3ft. This includes both the stuff you bring into OCS and all the additional gear they issue you. As a result, less is more... This is not a definitive list. When I went to OCS, I brought way too...

Lint roller, both a small one and a big one with a handle for your bed sheets and floor.

Your own pillow and blanket.

White shoe polish.

Clear nail polish for your belts after cutting them.

Cotton balls.

Tide pen and tide pods.

Masking tape.

Some of these I had others I had to borrow.

How do you use the clear nail polish for the belts? And why do you need a lint roller for the floor? Wtf lol

Nail polish helps keeps the end of the belt from fraying when you trim it. Last thing you want is a belt that keeps getting shorter. And a lint roller for the floor/toilet/mirror/anything because your room as to be kept insanely clean. If there’s water in the shower, autofail; if your toilet is dirty, autofail; if there’s water in your sink during RLP, autofail. Daily inspections are the same in terms of cleanliness.
