How about the Lemoore folks: where do they get their embroidery done?

Thinking about it for mine, and the Lemoore ones look like good quality.

Just out of interest, does NAVAIR actually authorize embroidered flight suits for flight?
Technically no, but everyone wears them anyway. Treated similar to Red Wing boots.

I think this falls into the 'not specifically prohibited so you're good' category. As I've seen Admirals wearing them I don't think its going to be an issue.

Back in ~2014 during my fleet tour one of the 2 seat Oceana squadrons had those done, but with hearts on the shoulders for rank. The wives were all in them for a photo shoot, except one actual active duty spouse in her actual flight suit. It was....something....

This is exactly the group I am remembering. I feel like it was -32. They would do something like that

Shhhhhh…the point is to look cool! Don’t get caught up in things like “is it legal” ;) But in all seriousness, I don’t believe they are legal to the letter of the law, but everyone does it anyways. Much to the chagrin of the salty MMCPOs and Chiefs mess.

I too wore my "happy hour" flight suit while flying.

I brought up this question, because as a DOSS it was my job to inform people of risks associated with actions. If you check with your paraloft NCO's they will tell you the attaching the Nomex Velcro patches and making repairs to a flight suit are done with Nomex thread. This is for the obvious safety reasons (fire survivability). The threads used by the embroidery shops are not Nomex, and would cause a heat/fire breach of a flight suit.

But hey, as @FLGUY stated... "the point is to look cool!"

Good thing she's wearing an embroidered flight suit... the only reason anyone would talk to her at happy hour.
