Yes, my bad. I just know that my packet had to be sent in for the same deadline as the March 3rd board and that SOMEONE reviews it. Sorry about that.

They want people that will be more likely to do more time in service. Senior enlisted or older people typically don’t want to put in that kind of sea time. Especially with families.

The age requirement is much more lenient now than it was in the past for nearly all designators, now most designators will consider a waiver for being over the age limit, in the past the age limit was a strict thing, so strict that there were a few times when a person was rolled in OCS which put them over the age limit for SNA which lead to redesignation.

From what my recruiter told me, you can’t have any waivers for the immediate selection criteria. So gpa, test score, age, etc. You can for the regular board but specifically for I-SEL, you can’t. I had to get a waiver for my adhd and tattoos but those didn’t affect my I-SEL process.
