OCS 11AUG25 IWC BOARD // Nerd Thunderdome 2025

Your background is good and if you look around is as good or better than those who have been selected in the past several years, that includes your OAR, your degrees and GPA's which are great.

There are some things that make me question what he told you, first he is an Intel officer, Intel officers do not sit boards to select Supply/SWO or any other designators other that IWC. He may have made that comment if people were going for SWO-IP/Oceano at the IWC board. If you were to look at the signed selection results and were to look up those names you would see what I am talking about.

I never say or would have said in the past a person has a great shot at Supply/IWC as those are small designators that can have a lot of applicants, in some cases selection rate has been as low as 10% however in your case if you weren't to be selected I would believe it was whatever this person put on the evaluation sheet that sunk you.
He is a SWO Officer.

Howdy fellas,

I'm on this board, but not too hopeful. Stats below:
  • Age: 26
  • Education: BA in Business Administration, 3.7 (one calc class)
  • OAR/ASTBE: 61/8/8/7
  • Prior Service: None
  • Waivers: none (unless there's one for color blindness)
  • Designators: CWO only
Nerd Thunderdome is definitely the best board forum name yet.
Dang dude, did you think about flying Navy? Your PFAR’s better than mine was

Haven't posted on a forum since year of our lord 2009, but I must throw my hat in the ring for the nerd thunderdome
  • Age: 24
  • Degree: BS Economics from University of Washington (Entire Calc series covered)
  • GPA: 3.43
  • OAR: 71
  • Letters of Recc: 3
  • Waivers: 1 For Kiwi Allergy
  • Designators: Intel Officer, CWO
My recruiter just told me that the Aug 11 board just got 86'd, by the way. Has anyone else heard the same thing? Any chance I could get ISEL'd, infochuds?

My OR is on leave and it's the first time I'm hearing this.

Not gonna lie, this forum helped me a lot with the OAR.
But at the same time, various "conflicting" information has also been adding more confusion.

Some personal examples would be,
1. My OR told me I should be in the June Board for IWC but according to this site it turns out that the June Board IWC for the designators I applied to were for fleet and BDCP applicants.
2. My OR told me Supply is hard-closed until Oct-Dec this year and did not tell me to bother considering it. Now there's a Supply board thread for Aug were people are saying the at-board list is out.
3. Now with my OR on leave, I'm hearing from another candidate that the August 11th IWC board is canceled.

I think for any applicant, the best he/she can do is to get good / better GPA, OAR scores to their best ability, apply early and hope for the best.
The whole process sort of reminds me of undergrad / grad school applications TBH.
