Road to 350: What Does the US Navy Do Anyway?

The order also includes their SELs. I don't recall ever seeing a super-large auditorium there, though they'll probably pipe the video feed into as many conference rooms as necessary.

The FBI academy has a big auditorium. That's where TBS holds their all hands functions.

I'm imagining a company sized element of GOFOs running into a company of newly commissioned 2nd Lts.

Does it hold 1500 people?

I'm wondering what they are going to define as 'command'? Would CNATRA and CNET be included or is it just 'operational' commands. Also, are they going to pull the deployed CSG, division and Wing commanders back or...? Depending on the answer it could be a company or battalion-sized gathering.

Either way, I would hate to be on gate guard duty that day.

Am I the only one wondering whether taking every command flag officer away from their command at the same time and putting them in the same location is a good idea?
They once had a big meeting of all the regional GOs/FOs at the Victory/Liberty complex in Iraq. Some force pro guys made the same observation and Petraeus commented something along the line of, “There are two people you can kill in war and not interrupt operations, the commanding general and the newest private.”

The meeting seems unnecessary, but I doubt we’ll see anything along the line of an attack. In any case I’m sure both Brett and I are on the “designated survivor” take charge list.

Probably in the 800-1000 range. TBS Company graduation sizes vary from 250-300 plus family, friends; staff, guests, etc. They usually all fit with room to spare. It’s in a pretty remote location and also has robust security system (which should be obvious). Which why is it would make sense. EWS, Command and Staff, OCS also all have large auditoriums and annexes for big events. Not sure why Quantico was selected over other locations.
