OCS 11AUG25 IWC BOARD // Nerd Thunderdome 2025

Tell me about it. I went to MEPS in Oct 2023 and was cleared for medical last July for the Navy and it was just another beginning of endless waiting.
I was in my last semester of grad school and had to bust my ass to finish up my graduation project + some personal issues and other military-related paperwork ate up time that I was able to finally submit my kit this Feb. Now boards are getting moved around here and there only to make things take longer.

Since I wasted nearly a year to be a crayon eater just to get dropped, I have to go to MEPS again as my medical is expiring tomorrow LOL.
At least it's a good thing that I'm used to how slow the government can be as I learned it the hard way when I was working on my greencard and naturalization :-)
Totally out of curiosity - since your MEPS expires tomorrow does that mean you are no longer eligible for this Board or does it not affect it since it's already being looked at? I'm just genuinely curious and really hope that it doesn't make you ineligible since you've been in the process so long!!!!

Per my OR, and I hope this can help anyone else in a 'administratively similar' situation purely pertaining to medical stuff.
- If the applicant ships out to OCS before the medical expires, no need to go to MEPS again.
- If the applicant is accepted but the medical expires before shipping to OCS, then he/she needs to go to MEPS again.
(If the NRC does not grant a waiver in case something else is found or a previously granted waiver is dinged then everything is moot anyways.)

Either way, since I'm applying to a competitive designator and not ready to quit until the Navy tells me to F off, I'd take my chances anyway.
:)

When go to MEPS again, I hope this time I don't get assigned with another 20 year old kid who wouldn't STFU all night bothering an old man get some sleep. LMAO.

I’m glad to hear it doesn’t automatically take your eligibility away!!

Oh I feel you on that. They’re going to have to tell me to F off also 😂

Noooo! That’s awful! Luckily I only live about 20 mins from my local MEPS so I didn’t have to do any hotel time or else I would have been the old grouchy lady there lol

It's kinda "interesting" that when I submitted my package this Feb, my OR told me if I get selected I will be shipping by this July.
I don't blame him, since he was doing his best to help me.
My MEPS medical is expiring in a couple of weeks so I guess I'm gonna have to gather my medical docs again.
I just hope the waiver Admiral Waters approved gets approved again :/ No changes in condition so far and it was the only one waiver I had.

I had a guaranteed option for the Army National Guard with an OCS contract but I wanted to go active and had to break someone's heart. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice LOL. In terms of serving, it would still count but I just wanted to go for a full-time service.

Anyway, hang in there everybody!
Did it say on your waiver that it'd expire past a certain point? Or is it just known that they expire past a set period of time? I also had stuff approved by Waters.

(Edit: looks like 2 years)

The N3M letter from my OR says

“The physical examination will expire in October 2025.”

Either way, based on some search and my knowledge MEPS results should be valid for 2 years.

Damn, mine expired in August '25. Tells you how long I've been waiting...Whatever, I would just hope it wouldn't prolong the time to go to OCS. I'm basing this on what-I-hope-will-be-a PROREC Y 😆

Someone in the 15SEP SNA/SNFO Board said that they just released NSW and OCEANO results (15 minutes before this post). Can someone with Flankspeed Sharepoint access check to see if ours are released?
