08NOV2026 SNA/SNFO board

So, I spoke to my recruiter today. I do meet the ISEL criteria, but he says I can’t go to the November board because I graduate in December. I had never heard of this. Anyone else ran into this or heard this kind of situation?? ISEL is only applicable for people who have graduated??

Yes. You need to be prepared for immediate selection and shipping. Obviously that doesn’t happen but that’s still the criteria.

If you haven’t graduated yet how does make you available to ship out immediately?

My first recruiter told me that since my ship date would be after my graduation date, that I would be fine to apply in November. But my new recruiter is telling me that’s not the case. Which makes total sense, was just a little confused by the conflicting info.

I-SEL that have been turned away have been for specific moral issues that were not specified in the I-SEL criteria.
A bit frustrating they don't specify what those moral issues are. I know most people get denied I-SEL due to listing experimental marijuana use. Would just save some people from the disappointment of thinking they qualify for I-SEL when they really don't.

That said, if one is given an I-SEL no, their application gets sent automatically to the next board, correct?

Text I received from my recruiter this morning.

“AVIATION BOARD UPDATE.

Pilot (1390) closed. Pilot BDCP and all NFO still open. Next board to submit 1390 will convene May 2027.”

For my fellow SNA applicants, looks like we’re waiting until May!
