29JUNE2026 IWC Board

I was put as an alternate. My recruiter had never heard of that before. Does anyone know anything about that?
I’m assuming that if any current PROREC Y runs into an issue then an alternate could take that slot. Def didn’t know that was a thing till now. I’m also shocked they canceled all the boards after only taking 26 plus BDCP

I'lll add something here in case other civilians apply in the future and go through this thread. I had to drag my recruiter out of bed in the morning and pester him to do even the most basic parts of his job. One time I drove up to the recruiting station and waited outside the door until he showed up at 3:00 in the afternoon. We were getting close to the board deadline and some paperwork wasn't in and he was nowhere to be found. I had to call the regional command in Colorado and offer to drive five hours up there to drop it off in person. Honestly pretty pathetic level of incompetency. I say all this as a warning for future applicants to really stay on top of the process
You're god damn right. They didn't submit a waiver in time for me and my name didn't make it to the board, even though i nagged the recruiter to send it in. It's incompetence and carelessness to the highest degree.

It depends on how they decide to do it as I have seen a few variations.

As an example I have seen people tagged FY 10 alternate FY 11 select, this is pretty self explanatory if they don't fill a spot for someone that can't go then they go the next FY.

I have seen people tagged as alternate and then fill a spot when a person drops, but those that don't fill spots have to reapply at the next board.

I have seen people tagged as alternate and if they don't fill a spot are almost guaranteed a spot at the next board.

Realistically the odds of 21 people dropping and the alternates taking those spots is not great, a few sure.

PROREC-Y 36
PROREC-A 21
PROREC-N 61
PROREC- DO NOT RETURN UNTIL SECURITY CLEARANCE ISSUES ARE RESOLVED 17
PROREC-Y BDCP 5
Is this DNR UNTIL SECURITY CLEARANCE ISSUES ARE RESOLVED a new thing? I searched here, reddit, and google and though there's plenty of discussions of DNRs, this appears to be the very first time DNRs with that addendum have been discussed online. Genuinely stumped by it and awaiting clarification from my OR
