Does anybody know when OCS is going to be changing places? I got moved to the Aug 19th class and I could use a little inside help. Everybody (friends, relatives, Gfriend) want to know where I will be and all I can say is Ah "that is top secret information, I could tell ya but then I would have to Kill you"

Seriously anybody heard anything?

Nothing in the Navy will move before August. Trust me, you are going to Pensacola, FL. If you don't, BigRed389 will send you a case of beer.

Hadn't heard anything else, myself. I know shannon and another class/shipmate had heard some scuttlebutt about it, but nothing official. I am still pointing the Monte Carlo towards Florida for now.

A friend of mine just finished OIS (the indoc school for medical officers) in Newport. Up there they're claiming the move will happen "within the next two years". So for now, it looks like it'll still be in Pensacola this August.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Big moves like this don't happen overnight. There seems to be a monthly frenzy among OCS hopefulls about whether OCS is moving in the next five minutes. Settle down, people. ;)

Remember, Navy years are like dog years... 2 years could easily turn into 4 or 6 years...

The last class to commission in Pensacola is projected to be 13-07. Since class 13-06 just commissioned, that makes it around a year from now. Plans are currently being laid regarding how exactly the move will take place.

Maybe there will be a busload full of crome-domes and poopie suits.

I can't believe that 13-06 just commissioned! When I went through OCS in '98 class 13-98 was commissioned in early April. I guess that is just another example of how the Navy is taking fewer people these days!

Lucky 13.

I was 13-05, and we commissioned 29 April. At one point, we were the only class on deck in Batt 1. Some of the staff would tell stories about the days when there were 4 or 5 classes packed into each battalion.
