Hey everybody,
I am preparing for the ASTB, and when I got the unofficial guide for the OCS on navyguides.com, it says I have should only focus on the OAR portion (I'm trying for the Supply, Transportation, & Logistics), but when I spoke to a recruiter, they stated that they look at the whole exam, so what should I focus on? Please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you.

To be honest, Every part. It's not a long test and if you're not used to doing math quick freehand, then take some time to refresh yourself and build up your score. You get three shots at it.

Best of luck

If you can't pass it, then you are retarded and should look into making a living scratching gas station lottery tickets.

Alright, I haven't seen anything that you have said up to this point that is anything close to intelligent. You're not funny and you don't really make any sense. Why not wait until you have something intelligent to say before you start posting. The mods have plenty of time now that the other forum troublemaker is gone so I would imagine that if you don't shut your man-pleaser, you'll be meeting a similar fate. No smilies for you.

To the original threadstarter: If you are worried about the ASTB, buy a prep book and work out some problems in there. Get comfortable with the material and you should do alright! Good luck.

I can do the math, but how are all the other sections?...and how much time is typically needed for studying before I go crazy?...

For me, the Aeronautical and Naval knowlege section required the most studying. It's very open-ended. My knowledge of the test is quite dated (2004), so I won't post an specifics. I will say that the ASTB forum has a wealth of knowledge about the test and which study guides are best.
