GOOD JOB, Flash ... Taney's class was actually something of a "pocket" destroyer or early DE before the DE type was conceived ... their early armament was complete with 5" 51-cal main mounts and a seaplane --- and they served with the Navy in WW2 and afterwards --- I think Taney served in Vietnam as well.
GOOD JOB, Master Chief!!!USS Hoga, a PH yard fire boat was to be moved to Little Rock Arkansas but not sure what has happend to it. "They" say it is still out there afloat but not in Little Rock, if not, then where?
Coast Guard, well ok, almost Navy. The Army AAC boat I was thinking of was an AVR. Think I may still be around, maybe in Japan, still owned by Air Force. Yokohama Yatch Club maybe.
I rest, that is all I can come up with.
No, young fool. NOT NALCOMIS, i.e., Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System ... and that's a mouthful.:icon_tongUss Nalcomis??
I remember seeing that "Fleet" from the air @ 30-40 years ago while passing north/south across the Bay --- I'm gonna say hundreds -- no joke --- hundreds of ships resided there during the '60's and 70's ...USS Hoga is still in Suisun Bay, CA, along with about 80 other ships of the "Ghost Fleet".

USS Hopper (DDG 70)anyone? Namesake ADM Grace Hopper. She was a legend in her field. Put the Navy on the digital map as it were. Before her time, a real trailblazer. Any other ships named after female Admirals?
