Blue Angels not welcome in San Francisco

This is complete bull and sickening, but it's soon becoming the civilian population that surrounds us, and sadly, decides what we do.

OK, so I suppose the next step is a permanent TFR over the San Francisco area. And let's close the airports too while we're at it; if aviation is so "dangerous," then I suppose these idiots have never set foot in a commercial airliner in their lives for fear it will crash. That resolution is an insult to every aircrew and maintainer involved with Naval Aviation.
We should just make all of San Fran airspace a no fly zone and see how they like their safe little world then. If flying is considered a risk, then why not ban all of it for the city area.

Subaru Imprezas are the best rally car out there. WRC is freakin sweet!

I'm sure there are a hundred other cities that are more than willing to schedule the Blue Angels for that time. I think about getting mad. However, I take enjoyment in thinking about how much the city stands to lose by barring the performances. I don't mind SF banning precision military flight demonstration one bit.

With regards to the more levelheaded people in SF, I mean you no harm whatsoever. Just like the law-abiding, God fearing Americans that live in my most favorite southern city that I wish would do us all a favor & hurry up and just fall the hell into the ocean like most people want it to. Same thing.

I hope you all don't paint a broad view San Franciscans based off of a few of these idiots stalling up the Blue Angels.

I lost all respect for SF when they got rid of JROTC. Way to decide the future of our youth for them by destroying a program that gives valuable insight and training for commissioning programs and early enlisted life. This blind hatred of the military must stop now.

Well put, Staff Sergeant...there's a lot of us from the SF area that are just as amazed at (and scared of) the extremity of the political climate down there. Just to put it out there, in my two decades growing up in the Bay Area, most people tended to lean left but weren't as blatantly stupid as trying to ban the Blue Angels. I think my liberal friends would agree that this isn't a smart move.

What was the decommissioned ship that was to be placed in the bay as a museum but was rejected due to its "advocation" of war?

It was the USS Iowa, and it was because of this rejection that I was not surprised when this thread was started.

In fact I am more surprised that SF still has a fleet week. I had figured SF had already put an end to that. Im sure its not far off.

The Blues got kicked out of NUW after their "show" in 1995. They have never returned ...

Anyone know why??? :)

Now just to piss San Francisco off, I hope Oakland tries to host the show. Or, even better, Sausalito. How is San Francisco supposed to exert any control over the airspace above it? Protest signs, at most, will only control the airspace to an altitude of 10 feet or so.

God I hate hippies.

Laughable.

When did an organization called CodePink ever seem credible?
