Nice find... but WTF is with that helmet??? Obviously designed by someone thats never had to try and look behind them during a BFM engagement.

As the helmet is designed to allow the pilot to cue his aircraft's weapons by simply turning his head, I'd have to disagree with you.

As his point was, if you are defensive i.e. looking behind you for the bad guys, you aren’t worried about “cueing weapons”. We don’t have lasers that shoot backwards…Yet.:icon_smil

I personally don't believe that helmet will interfere with ones vision much at all. If you look in varying directions, without moving your head, it appears that your vision would be limited no more by that helmet, than by the features on your face. Unless he was talking about the helmet being large and making it more difficult to turn your head and such, then I would probably agree to some degree, although I've heard that it really doesn't weigh much more than current helmets. It does however appear awkward.

If the eyes were covered by a black visor, it'd look a lot like a TIE pilot helmet too.
