Looks like maybe just blue piping on the sleeves and collar, for added flair perhaps. I really wouldn't mind seeing cracker jacks shit-canned all together.

Noted, and you're correct. As for them being active duty, I'm skeptical. They really don't seem to wear the uniforms like active duty folk (Ref: the CDR's baggy trousers and sleeves pushed up a la 1984, and PO2 Carlos Mencia's dramatically crooked EAWS pin)
I wish ... just my fantasy, alter-ego at work, perhaps .... I think that was the war I wanted to fly in .... if I couldn't be a cowboy.
If old is new again, then perhaps the Army will go back to the Ike jacket.
I'll get behind that. I'm still pissed that the Park Service authorizes the Ike jacket, but I'm not authorized to wear it myself.. :icon_rage

Right along with you on that one. Maybe it's time the E6 and below get a uniform they can be a little more proud to wear, instead of counting the days until they make Chief and don't have to look like a tool anymore.
As an old enlisted guy, I never had anything but respect for the uniform I wore and I wore it with pride. My Uncle wore it in WW II along with many other good men. I've never cared for the term "Cracker Jacks". I was happy to make Chief but not because of the uniform change.
On another note, I remember the time one of my shipmate's new bride starched and ironed his Class A Whites for a command inspection. He didn't take them off the hanger until he got to the hangar 15 minutes before muster time. She had ironed them right side out with fore and aft creases. Boy did he stand out...

Pipings on the sleeves (wrist) and the flap, kinda like the Dress Blues. As an E, I take pride in wearing that uniform. When I first got in the Navy I thought they were really gay looking, but in time they grew with me and I began to appreciate them more. Besides, chicks dig them

I liked them! I see the new “whites” have stripes on the blouse cuffs. Only dress blues had those stripes in my day. The “whites” blouse just had a plain cuff. The “blues” had as I remember a “13” button flap on the trousers, no fly! The “whites” had a button fly. You could buy a brand called “Seafarer” for both dress uniforms as well as dungarees. They were cut a bit differently, fit a little tighter. Actually both uniforms were easy and comfortable to wear. Nice to see the new (old) look back.
The white working uniform was the same blouse as the dress white uniform with out the scarf. The working blue uniform was a plain blouse, no cuffs, without scarf. Bellbottom dungarees and a chambray shirt was the actual “dirty shirt" work uniform of the day. For you officers all khakis had no “poly” all starched and pressed. Oh, no patent leather either… all shoes were spit shined.
Personally Skim I think the uniforms now look terrible. In my time we all loved the “cracker jacks.”
