PRK Paperwork

Theblackness, Its good to hear I am not alone. This is pure speculation, but my guess is that your OSO is not reporting your surgery in order to simplify things. I believe you are supposed to report all surgeries to BUMED or wherever, at least that is what my OSO tells me. Maybe your OSO is just fudging things a little.

Yeah, no idea. I listed it on my annual physical form I had to fill out and I assume that goes to them. I'll give him a call since my after my 3-month checkup, my Doc didnt want to see me for 6 months, which would put me at the 9-month point. If I need to show evidence of a 6-month, then I want to know about it.

Maybe you should pay another OSO to give you correct information. Do not believe everything that comes out of your OSO's mouth. Not getting all of the paperwork after your surgery is like not getting a copy of your loan document after getting finaniced for a vehicle. Sure you can get copies later on but those are documents that you should want to have. One thing that you will learn in the military is that nothing is worth anything unless its documented correctly and completely. Take it as a life lesson.

your right, I should go "hire" a new OSO???:confused: Just because I havnt gotten my paperwork together doesnt mean that Im not. there is an obvious communication barrier here so Im going to just leave it at that.
 
Yeah, he's saying don't be retarded. I know two recruiters -- my actual recruiter in Phoenix and one back east who I know through a friend. I get different answers from both of them. The solution is to just check it yourself.

It's my future career (in theory) and I care enough to make sure all my i's are dotted and t's are crossed.

After you suggested that we fudge the numbers, I should be saying the same thing about you dude...

Does anybody understand what sanders is rambling about?

So is an ORB scan necessary, or just recommended? My doctor does not use these and if I need one I need to get one elsewhere before my surgery next Friday. I cannot find anything that says I need one, but I don't want to not get one and find out after the fact that I needed it.
 
Hi - I'm currently working for Northrop Grumman but am getting my naval pilot application together - I'm getting PRK in 3 1/2 weeks. Are there different requirements for PRK paperwork for those not in the Navy vs. those already in the Navy? My recruiter is hard to get a hold of sometimes and I want to make sure I have all the necessary paperwork. Also- can I still be selected for a pilot slot and go through OCS while I'm waiting for confirmation that the PRK procedure went well?
