IFS is just for SNAs not SNFOs correct? Thats what I thought at least. If you get your PPL and skip IFS we could end up in the same API class as well...but lets not get ahead of ourselves, there is that 12 weeks of "summer camp" we need to get through first. :D

SNFO's do IFS as well.
 
Yeah all flying designators have to do IFS or have at least their PPL. So if you get to skip it that's 3 weeks ahead you theoretically could move forward. However, my only concern is that they'll still let us sit around for 3 weeks to class up at API, and we all end up in the same place regardless. Like we said before, it's all wishful thinking so we'll find out once we get through "summer camp" lol.

Yeah, I didn't either...coulda sworn I saw a thread that said NFOs skip IFS. Ah well.

While we're all feeling so optimistic...I'd love to get commissioned before Bucknell's homecoming weekend, see if I get a chance to swing by. There are some professors on sabbatical and students abroad that I'd love to see one last time before flight school eats my soul.

Yeah, I never saw anything that definitively said NFOs don't go, but everything I've read so far says PILOT or NAVAL AVIATOR so I assumed (usually a mistake) that NFOs skipped that journey. I'll find out eventually either way.

If all goes well we will commission the 1st week in October, so if Bucknell's homecoming is after that you should be ok. You're BDCP like me so we will have some leave time we can burn between OCS and our report date to Pcola.

Glad to have you aboard! If you haven't done so already I've created a Facebook page for us and our families, friends, better halves to communicate with each other before and while we're at OCS, so feel free to join (I'm admin on there too FYI).
