This used to be true before the wars, in order to keep up surgeons skills, but to my knowledge is no longer possible. Sure is a shame though!
I worked for an E-7 (not to be mistaken for a Chief) That had a boob-job. She would often refer to them as her "upgrades" and brag that the Navy took the bill. You can see how furious I was when she tried denying boot chits for my guys, saying it wasn't the Navy's responsibility to buy flight deck boots, and that was what the uniform allowance was for..

You can still get a surgery through the Navy, my friend was going to do it last year but the problem is that you do not get to pick your surgeon. So, if you are willing to take a chance... go for it. :)

what a reason i want to be an officer i want my guys to come to me for stupid shit like that i would put her in her place and make her apologize to the team. i believe in one team one fight and to support the mission is to support all sailors through guidance, mentorship, and standing up for them.

7 messages just posted to message traffic and still no results :( The only CNO message was : R 172210Z OCT 11 CNO WASHINGTON DC NOTICE OF CONVENING FY-13 ACTIVE-DUTY REAR ADMIRAL SELECTION BOARD...

We should ask that guy who said the world was going to end this past May when the results are going to come out.....what was his name? You know the guy I am talking about, right? He changed his mind at the last second and said he was wrong about May and it was going to be December instead.

Hey all! :) IW applicant. I've been stalking this forum for a couple weeks now. Lol. Go figure it was the boob job question that got me to sign up! I got one. On my own dime though. Still have to run a request chit for "elective surgery". Details about what kind it is end up in that whole "personal medical business" realm. If you ever have Sailors run a chit, make sure it states "elective surgery". The Navy used to pay for boob jobs but not anymore. Granted, you'll pay a lot less if you go through the Navy than you will a civilian, but if it's for personal appearance/confidence issues, they no longer will cover the whole thing. Reductions however are covered completely because it definitely affects the performance abilities- particularly with PT.

And that E-7 who was bragging about it and then denying your chits for safety equipment should be punched square in her girls! That's BS!

I couldn't even get my girls reduced through the Navy when I was in and I was in pain!! I honestly would rather just pay for it out of my own pocket anyways. I don't trust those crazy navy doctors (even though thats what my hubby wants to do lol)

Sorry you had to filter through 50 pages of random conversations, jokes, how to properly get a boob job in the Navy, etc.....

Just kidding!!! Good luck.
