FY12 Quotas

If read correctly, Page 29 "OCS production Summary" would be the FY12 quotas right?

Nope, you would think so but that report is done before the FY quotas are signed, that report has to be done prior to the new FY, the FY quotas in general aren't figured out and signed until after the FY, in this years case it was Jan or Feb when they were actually signed.

Now you can see the frustration of us recruiters.

NRC goal on this sheet should match what we are told, for comparison here is what the actual goals are. Many of the below had no boards due to roll overs from previous FY.

This stuff is always interesting. That is a relatively generous number of SEAL slots. It will be competive but a shot can be had.

This stuff is always interesting. That is a relatively generous number of SEAL slots. It will be competive but a shot can be had.

That number is actually the standard number, hasn't changed in many years, there are generally 2 numbers that never change, SEALS and NUKES.

Last year they had 50 applicants for 20 spots, many though never get qualifying scores to apply.

They do DA doctors are 14 and lawyers are 4.

The civilian job market is lucrative, so why so many crossovers choosing to go Navy these days.
Sir, with the number of apps for IDC, I was wonderimg if they have a certain number of AD quotas to fill for IW vs non priors? Also, with recon packages, do they take longer to process or do they go straight to board as advertised. I put in for IW and IP as a secondary, but I read your posts on that IP situation and know pickings are slim. I really want to get picked up this time and am trying hard to understand what makes a good selling point. IW is my field, yet it is so hard for cryppies to get in vices other rates...your thoughts?LDO is the only other option for fleet guys with ten or more yrs of service...why not pick us as we are already assimilated into the system. I mean no disrespect in anyway to the stellar and competitive nonpriors....and there are a lot that I have seen here.

In dealing with medical in the civilian sector they make a lot but they also pay quite a bit for insurance and associated cost, if they come AD they get paid less, even with bonuses but have none of the other cost or liability. The lawyers love to come in because in just a few months they can be trying cases while in the civilian sector they are someones assistant/info seeker for a while.

No quotas for prior vs non prior, they do go straight to board, they have to consider several factors such as how long can this person serve before he has the option to get out and such, in general IW and IP is kind to priors, about 1/3 of the past selections are prior.

Maybe this should be another thread, but I figured I would ask because I am sure others might be thinking about it too.

Does anyone have any idea what the FY13 board schedule/quotas will look like. I know it is a ways off and there is nothing set in stone (if anything at all), but are the timeframes about the same from year to year? When might we expect another SNA board, sometime in late 2012 early 2013? I was not in on these last two due to a medical issue that I am almost certain that I will have cleared up shortly. I was an alternate out of the August 2011 SNA board, and think my chances are best for that SNA due to my flight time. I am in for Intel (or was until reading the April 2012 thread…) but I understand it might be more than a year until we see another board for 1830’s.

I guess we can let the speculating begin! But seriously, any info with a minute hint of validity is welcomed.

Are NFO selections similar to Intel and Supply in that those who put it as their first choice are preferred over those who put another community (say, SNA) first and NFO second, for example? Or are many who are not picked up SNA but listed NFO as #2 generally picked up for NFO? I don't mean to imply that NFO is second best to SNA or anything, I'm just asking because I see that there are many more SNA slots open than NFO, and am considering getting PRK to be physically qualified for SNA to increase my chances of getting selected for aviation.

IDC and Supply are the only ones like that, I have had several people picked up with NFO or Pilot as #2 or #3
