I have found the answer to my question above. We will not qualify for military turbotax if we weren't active duty by the end of 2012. Oh well!!

Great info. Thanks! One more question, if we won't have access to our finances how are we supposed to pay off that credit card each month?

In regards to this, I am sure we may set up a recurring minimum payment plan or something similar. In any case I am planning on using this card myself and I'm sure they've considered our situation

I'm sure you'll have a grace period until after OCS/commissioning. Tens of thousands of your predecessors have managed to survive this problem.;)

I just got my flight into today, flying into Providence at 6:20pm from SD. Where is everyone staying that saturday night? Supposedly the Navy Lodge is full that night.

Do we or do we not need to bring t-shirts? the list of items to bring under the "required paperwork/items" link on the OTC website doesn't mention t-shirts. And on an even larger scale, that list doesn't mention a lot of things on the list under the "uniform requirements" page. Is everyone bringing the small ticky-tack items like scotch tape as listed on the big list on the "uniform requirements" page?
 
I don't see tshirts on the list either, at boot camp, we were issued tshirts rather quickly. I imagine things might be similar? I'm going to have some in my car just in case.
 
Got ya. I'm going to bring some to be on the safe side as well. How about the other small items though? Rubber maid container? Plotter? (Don't even know what that is) Utility kit? (Not sure what that is either)

Hey clk. I'm pretty sure the uniform requirements list is items that you will be issued (buy) at OCS - that's why it states the price range and that it may vary. The reason they give the list is so that prior service guys can avoid rebuying the stuff. That said, checking out the thread that Anabi referred to is a good idea too.
