01JUN26 SNA/SNFO board

This might be a question for the ASTB thread but it kind of applies to anyone applying for the November board, (if that even happens).

Has anyone thought about whether ASTB scores might become inflated now that the terrain id section has been removed?

I know the ASTB is an aptitude test, so I'd expect the scoring to be adjusted over time. I'm just wondering if there could be a temporary increase in average scores while the new version is being normed.

I’ve heard anecdotally that around 30% of SNA applicants do not medically qualify at OCS. Has anyone else heard this or have any input?

yeah my friend is a flight surgeon and said he usually sees SNA applicants get DQ’D for stuff that comes out of nowhere, like abnormal EKGs

Interesting that you go through MEPS and then get medically disqualified after you’re in that feels weird. Does it say what they get DQ’d for?

I’ve read that MEPS and the medical check you at get at NAMI/OCS are completely disconnected, which sucks lol (you can pass for x at meps but fail for x with NAMI)
