I’m sure there are plenty of different variables, but does anyone have an idea of what the ship date windows might look like if you are selected by this board for NFO as a street applicant?Texted my recruiter. Street applicants should expect results by Early April
Did you mark down anything on your Applicant Processing and Summary Record that would trigger a moral waiver such as illegal substance usage? If so, that's almost certainly the cause. My recruiter told me my packet was reviewed at the board (assuming under ISEL) despite being a normal street to seat app. So we shall see…last time I wasn’t selected under the ISEL program hence had to submit to the normal board. Fingers crossed for all you bros regardless
I was told August through September, but that was back in December when I dropped my packet off. Who knows if that has changedI’m sure there are plenty of different variables, but does anyone have an idea of what the ship date windows might look like if you are selected by this board for NFO as a street applicant?
No criminal record or drug usage. However I was charged with battery after a bar fight in France about 7 years ago. It was dropped and recorded as not guilty (I was genuinely the victim). My recruiter told me it wouldn't require a waiver since I was not convicted, but regardless it's not exactly a feather in my cap...Did you mark down anything on your Applicant Processing and Summary Record that would trigger a moral waiver such as illegal substance usage? With the I-SEL process you can still get dinged by 'moral' issues that don't necessarily require a waiver and it's likely the initial charge (and arrest if there was one?) resulted in your packet being rejected by the OCM. It's unfortunate, especially in your case because it sounds like somebody assaulted you and you defended yourself. No criminal record or drug usage. I wonder if FormerRecruitingGuru might shed some light on the matter?

Just being charged can be enough, and not being arrested doesn't mean anything as there are many times a person will be involved in an incident then later sent a summons to appear in court where you will need to plead guilty/not guilty.Ah yes could well be. I was never actually arrested (nor ever have been subsequently). To this day I don't know what happened, but it ended up with me getting in a fight with 3 guys. They ultimately did me some damage and I ended up being put in hospital. They then made accusations against me in an attempt to cover their tracks. As such I was charged with battery by a somewhat incompetent British Military police. It wasn't until after they reviewed the French police report / bar tenders statement that they dropped it all.
Indeed, regardless it is what it is. Do you think this could be a complete show stopper even for a normal board? Granted you don't have a crystal ball however from your experience? Otherwise my packet is squeaky clean and hopefully somewhat competitive.Just being charged can be enough, and not being arrested doesn't mean anything as there are many times a person will be involved in an incident then later sent a summons to appear in court where you will need to plead guilty/not guilty.
There are times when a person has charges dropped even when they did the act, and there are times when a person is sent to trial when it is clear they are innocent, I have seen both. A friend of mine was charged and found not guilty by reason of self defense, multiple witnesses said he was on the ground covering his head yet he was charged, my friends attorney said the prosecutor in that case would take any case to trial even if it was probably going to result in not guilty verdict. Then on the other side my friend who was an officer had a prosecutor that would not take a case to trial unless it was a slam dunk, this meant many people who committed a crime had charges dismissed. The USN doesn't know which side a person could fall on.
