I didn't realize that the Navy was using the osprey to replace the greyhound. That is bad ass, that is on my list for sure! It'll also be interesting to see what the lifestyle is like for 22 guys since it's replacing the C2. I know the Navy wants to make it more "operational" then just a COD role but who knows.
I used to be dead set on jets. At this point I think I’d be happy flying anything. Still would prefer jets tho. What platforms does everyone hope for?
E-6 is similar but the “deployments” are 90 days max, you don’t even leave the US, stay in the aforementioned Gucci hotels and rack up as many flight hours in a single tour as some fighter guys get in a whole 10 year obligation. I guess it all comes down to what your personal priorities are.
A cardboard box on the side of the road is high class after doing 3 and change on the boat in my eyes ?Slightly inaccurate. I wouldn’t call our alert facilities “Gucci” by any means, but I’ve also been on the boat so compared to that it’s pretty nice. I can’t complain when I’m getting Per diem every day deployed and able to face time my family a few hours after every mission. TACAMO is not very high on the cool factor but it’s also very very low on the suck factor compared to other.
That fortune is garbage anyway! ?Just had a fortune cookie... it can go f**k itself?View attachment 31850
If this fortune cookie is right, I'm swinging on the baker that made it.That fortune is garbage anyway! ?
I got your back man, just give me a call ??If this fortune cookie is right, I'm swinging on the baker that made it.
Sick, another crewdog! Are you a Marine or Navy 22 Crew Chief? Also the memorandum was dated for 7 June but the results didn't come out until 23 June, almost a whole month later? For anyone interested in V-22s, I highly recommend the community. I currently fly on them as a Crew Chief, loading and unloading Pax and Cargo, and it's dope. The pilots are great people who will be great mentors for all future pilots. The primary mission is great, and the per diem, and most importantly, not staying on the ship, are great perks.
On a different note, I was just perusing through May's thread, and someone posted an official memorandum of all of the selectees which was dated 07JUN. The board adjourned on 26MAY, so that's a pretty quick turnaround for all us hopefuls.
Good luck everyone, and may the force be with you!
Sweet, VRM-30 by chance? Also what mission set do they have you guys doing? Is strictly a cod replacement or do they have you doing more "operational" mission tasks?Navy. Working in San Diego at the first Navy CMV-22 squadron.
