OCS 02Nov20 SNA/SNFO (Pilot/NFO) Board

They have you slotted in a Sept. 2021 class and your seat was requested on 11/05. Unless there’s another Taylor, Hunter who applied for OCS at the same time. It doesn’t show middle initials. I would say that the likelihood of that is pretty low but not impossible lol
I'm at the point where I'm afraid to even ask if I'm on any of those class rosters in the chance that I didn't get selected this time and have. But maaaaaaann do I want to know already, or even have an idea of what the answer will be. By any chance, did you see my rather long last name of Gardinali Garcia anywhere on the roster? Man this is getting nerve wracking.

08/15/21 Class date.
Tentative. Don't let me be the guy who told you something wrong, but I doubt there's any other's with your name.

I’m surprised at these dates being so far away, but if the other rumor about not taking as many pilots (if any) on upcoming boards is true, it makes sense they would stretch this batch out over the next FY. Looks like I’ll be finding a temp job! (If I’m selected...)

That would in fact be me, yes.

I can't thank you guys enough for going through the system and rosters for me. If the occasion ever arises, I owe the both of you a beer in the future. While this isn't an affirmative Prorec-Y or Prorec-N, it is definitely a relief and hopefully foreshadowing some good news. Again, really appreciate it boys!

Until then, you can find me restocking the shelves at Home Depot....

This is brutal lol

I second that haha. My recruiter isn’t very helpful. On my third one since I started this process. The first was super helpful (P3 pilot in process of transitioning out of the navy). The second, not so much and the guy I have now was assigned to me about 2 weeks before the board convened and my packet was already submitted. Every time I’ve talked him he says “let me get back to you” and I just get a text saying “no updates the packet is still at the board”. I haven’t asked him about OCS dates though and I’m not reading into anything too much. Just gonna sit tight until I hear something concrete from him...although I feel as if I’d be the last know out of everyone lol

There were several times during this process where i thought my recruiter had forgotten about me completely lol. Granted, Covid did strike a few months into my application process. I asked him a few days ago and received the same response as you, "no updates". My scores are decent, but i have two waivers so im scared shitless!

Do you see any last name Butler?
If you’re AD, you’re not going to have a date until your command gives a release date. I’m fairly certain they haven’t started contacting commands yet. If I was a betting man I would agree with @Ghost SWO and say Civilians will find out something more concrete around the 17th, then they’ll start contacting commanding officers a few days later and then BOL will reflect a business day or two later.

My recruiter is from the aviation community and I feel the same, he’s been awesome overall. I’m pretty sure he went through OCS, too, so he knows exactly what we’re going through. Means a little more when he says to relax, try not think about this, and that it’ll drive you insane if you do.

He might’ve even said to stay off of AW’s lol. Could be misremembering that slightly though.

Funny. My buddy’s brother is a P8 pilot and is the one that referred me to AW. Even though he went through OCS about 5 years ago and hasn’t visited the site since. Either way it has been beyond helpful having insight from someone I know well who can provide a candid view of life in the navy. The good and the bad.

My experience with recruiters hasn’t been as bad as some of the horror stories I’ve read though. The second one lost my file from the first so had to redo everything. And when I took the ASTB a second time I asked to check my folder and found some other guy’s LORs with my application lol. He also submitted an outdated APSR to the board even though I had sent him the correct version a month prior to submission. The old one got kicked back by the processors so I had to re-send him everything (again) but it looks like the correct version made it since my name was on the “at-board” list. Will all be worth it though if I get that Pro-Y (fingers crossed)
