Looking forward to all of that, love the paint scheme too!Article about the new NIFE program that replaced API. For those wanting to know what lies ahead of OCS.
Its my understanding that everyone, no matter experience, goes through this new program the same way. The Navy wants to ensure nobody has any bad habits from prior experience. It used to be you could get a waiver of sorts for having your license, skipping the IFS phase, but now its all standardized.Looking forward to all of that, love the paint scheme too!
I'm curious how people like myself with prior ratings fit into the new system. I've completely re-done ground going from fixed-wing to rotary, so I'm not opposed to redoing it a third time lol. Review is always good.
Congrats manGot a call from my recruiter confirming a board date for me. Also the next SNA board isnt until august is what he said. he didnt mention a January board but the SNA pipeline is pretty clogged

I think the actual number of quota's to be filled with this October board is what will determine the acceptance rate, not the clogged pipeline. The pipeline is what seems to have halted the upcoming boards.Hopefully the SNA backup didn't affect the acceptance ratio for our board very much.
Based off the class rosters compared to the At board list, so far 121 people have been scheduled out of the 229 that applied, but that doesn’t include any AD/reserve that may have been selected. There were 27 AD/Reserve that applied so depending on what percentage of us were selected will tell us the exact selection rate for the entire board. Unless they’re still scheduling people, but there haven’t been any new additions since the beginning of the month. Unfortunately I can’t tell who was SNA or SNFO unless it was the only thing they applied for. There have been people with 5/6/6 ASTBs who have been scheduled so that’s a good sign for some of us AD on the lower end.Hopefully the SNA backup didn't affect the acceptance ratio for our board very much.
All the results come out at the same time. when they release the results it lists all SNA, SNFO, Non-Selects, and Do Not ReturnsI am going to bet most of us in the NFO bucket will get results on Tuesday. If I was a betting man.
That's not bad, that's a 53% selection rate not even considering the 27 AD's. With the 27 AD guys it would jump to a max of 65%Based off the class rosters compared to the At board list, so far 121 people have been scheduled out of the 229 that applied, but that doesn’t include any AD/reserve that may have been selected. These aren't bad odds at all. I'm thinking we'll all know our dates for this board next week. Regular Navy Wide Advancement Results should be out within two weeks as well. That's not bad, that's a 53% selection rate not even considering the 27 AD's. With the 27 AD guys it would jump to a max of 65%
If we extrapolate a little, the thing that will vary the numbers is usually the SNA selects 3:1 to NFO. Which here would probably break out to roughly 90 SNA, 30 NFO. .. and that isn't including the AD guys. With AD it might be like 110 SNA, 37 NFO. Those numbers are on par with previous boards assuming a 100% selection for AD. August selected I think 145 SNA if I remember right lol...
If you compare that to what was supposed to be available based on the quota number previously posted - 122 SNA and 109 NFO, It makes sense that the OR's are telling SNA applicants to add NFO or they're not submitting them to the January board. Only a handful or potentially no SNA slots remain, but approximately 80 NFO slots are still there for January.
All speculation of course, but it still seems to match what the OR's have told January applicants, and what the numbers showed for the quota.
