02Sept25 SWO Board

I could but what do you think of my selection odds?
Honestly it’s hard to say no one actually knows what the boards are looking for at any given time. We just have the basic requirements and past selections. Your OAR is good and your GPA is good. You have work experience which is a big plus. However, to put it bluntly you’re old. Maximum age is 29 to be a SWO but it’s waiverable up to 32. You’re almost at the max waiverable age, which in a way could be a plus if you look at it from the perspective that you’re brining experience and maturity. Nonetheless I wish you luck and hope to see you in Rhode Island!

Thanks for shooting it straight

Making Recruiting Great Again
They only mentioned something about a spreadsheet nothing about my odds. Furthermore you could ve just simply answer the question rather than imply im not "looking" in the right place.

Here’s a lesson for a prospective officer.

Check out the previous SWO board spreadsheets and research yourself. If you want people to help you out, do the homework/research, odds are they will be more inclined to help you.

This goes not only with this post but with others.

Torn on options I posted my stats above earlier.

I d really love to make this board for a variety of factors in my life.

However im a realist and dont anticipate to be selected.

With that in mind what route would you recommend

In about 6 months from now i ll be 31 my work would pay for my masters degree then. I d ultimately like to make officer would doing enlisted reserves help or should I focus on masters degree? I likely wouldnt finish it until 33 or 34

7 years law enforcement background. I m starting my life basically from 0 lost a lot in a awful divorce

I just feel im too old to enlist but not competitive enough to be selected

Have you explored options in other branches besides navy?

I am looking into officer reserves with the army as well but am not sure if I ll get picked up there either
I don’t know much about enlisted but I think they have higher age limits, also Air Force has higher age limits for officer. Look into supply. Idk you have many options. 31 years old is not the end of the world. Just gotta look into it.

If you’re a realist, stop being so negative. It could go either way. Explore options, that way you don’t feel limited. It’s not a one way path. Give yourself options that way you feel in control and not stuck.

Hey guys I found and reskinned an improved spreadsheet for SWO. Please fill in your information! (Or don't haha)

(Edit: I have also gone through and added a few of you guys. Just so others can have a better idea.)

Thanks for that! I tried to add myself but perhaps I can’t do it on my phone. I’m F, 29yo, Y waiver and I switched to SWO #1 and supply #2
