Hey all. I just got off the phone and I got 3 January for OCS! I'm out of town, so I'm not sure if this was the finsel or just the date, but he mentioned he would have the paperwork ready for me to sign when I got back from travel and he would show me how to "log in to my account". Can't wait.

Welcome! Another pilot! Dude with scores like that and a nuke degree, why didn't you go subs and take a sweet signing bonus? I also had my OCS date about 2-3 weeks before I had my FINSEL, but I've been told I'm not swearing in until mid December
 
Same actually, I received my orders to report to OCS from NRD Houston at my swear in, I just assumed it would be the same case for everyone.

Yep! Thanks, I guess we'll end up in P'cola around the same time as well. Also- after graduation in 2014 I really thought hard about doing nuke subs, but I think I knew I really wanted to fly. After I took the ASTB I switched to the pilot board. The signing bonus would have been awesome, but I know that flying is what I want to do.

I'm about to give my notice at my job. I'm actually out of town on travel with 2 of the managers who I'll have to tell first. I'll see about if its my FINSEL when I get back next week.

Question for ya'll: Did anyone come to your swearing in or was it just you and your recruiter?

Parents and best friend whom I consider a brother showed up. Nice little ceremony, the individuals who conduct it know the drill and how important it is.

That could be possible. Technically there isn't really anything you need to do with the FINSEL paper itself. If you're going to swear in, sounds to me like everything is squared away. I just got my FINSEL but I've been told I'll be swearing in mid-December just before OCS.

To bad the pay doesn't start when you swear in lol,my buddy who went through Air Force OCS started getting paid when he swore in then just sat on his butt for 6 months waiting for a class date....

Ugh I wish! We don't get paid for that AND no signing bonus! Oh well, we'll just have to be content with fancy toys then...
