There was also a selected Supply candidate complaining on Reddit a few weeks ago that his class date has been pushed back from February to (I think it was) August. He said that there is a priority to have SWOs get started ASAP.

Each designator has a specific number of spots to fill each FY, they can adjust people based on school dates and such but at the end of the day the USN still needs to commission a specific number of SWO's, Supply, CEC, etc by Oct 1st.

It is more likely they had redesignations in OCS that put Supply at their numbers for the FY.
