Are letters of recommendation required for the package? I understand according to some they may not hold a significant weight but are they absolutely necessary? Reason I ask is because my recruiter didn’t ask for any.

For the most part no. I do think some folks that are/were enlisted has some LORs but that was because they went through a different process

Anyone else submit for the 14July board?

If the schedule holds, I’ll be at that board. I had to edit forms after the 05May board’s deadline, so my package was approved/received/confirmed on May 1st. Fingers crossed

Were you told you had a 6 month wait or that you received a "Do Not Return" from the board that would prevent you from applying ever again?

Not the OP, but is this an actual category for non-selects? Have you seen this happen before? What kind of things could prompt a “Do Not Return?”

Basically if you’ve applied for the same board multiple times they can tell you to not return. Or you had a waiver that was pretty bad or something idk. That’s how it was explained to me

I was just told I couldn’t apply again. Basically saying don’t waste your time, try this instead. But I actually am submitting again this July. So wish me luck.

Yes, normally if a person has waivers the board won't ever accept is what will result in a DNR

There is a 6 month wait unless there is a significant change, if NRC catches it they will reject you without going to board.

Define significant change?I’ve read a lot about what constitutes as a significant change never got a clear answer.

It’s not a clear answer, but rule of thumb is an improved ASTB / OAR score or GPA, completing graduate education, etc.

Do you think adding letters of recommendation are a good way to improve? I’m already out of college and feel my scores are decent.
