^ nice scores man! question for anyone who can answer... what is the straight math problems to arithmetic ratio roughly? I mean is there 3-4 for the section or does it vary greatly? I'm just curious because that is my week point, as far as the timing goes not the difficulty of the problems.

For the arithmetic sections are you allowed to use any sort of scratch paper or anything to write down computations, or is everything to be done in your head?

Yes, you can use scratch paper during the test, but you must turn them in after the test is complete.

Best scores i've seen, congrats. Do you know which form you had? How tough was the aviation knowledge section?

I'm pretty sure that I had form 5, though I'm honestly not sure (my attention was elsewhere). My supplemental section was all aviation type questions, and a lot of them dealt with random FAA stuff. The actual aviation section was pretty straight forward, some of the practice tests were harder.

What material did you use to study for this test? If you have any pdf versions, could you send it to tipsey710@yahoo.com

Just took it for the second time today. I had a lot more time to study this time around. My scores went from 7/7/7 and 57 on form 5 to 9/8/8 and 71 on form 3.

For study materials I would recommend the Barron's book, the Peterson's book and the study guide someone posted on here (sorry the name escapes me, that poster deserves a ton of credit). Anyone with questions feel free to ask here or PM me

Thanks to all that post on here. My question basically – “should I retake the ASTB before the July boards”. My recruiter said I have a solid competitive score, but after viewing a lot of 9’s, 8’s, and 60+ scores on here I’m a tad worried.

The gist is my recruiter said there is a way that I can retest as soon as my 30 day wait period is up and he might be able to get that score up to the board before they review my application (July Board). However he said he wouldn’t recommend it. I just wanted to get a little feedback from you guys and the NavyoffRec and see what you think I should do. I'm applying for a #1 SNA and #2 NFO

Score & Education:
Score 7/7/7 55.
Age - 25
College Kansas State University – College of Engineering
B.S. Construction Science and Management
GPA 3.77

Experience:
Work Experience 3+ years for a Large Commercial Construction / Engineering firm.

Extra Curricular:
Volunteer with 4+ years for habitat for humanity and cancer organizations
Varsity Athlete in HS
College scholarships, etc.
Father was a Navy Pilot and I have some flight training, but no license.

I know the "will i get in" posts get old, but just trying to see what your thoughts were on retesting. The thing is I only studied for 4 days before taking the test, so I know I could do better.

I would board with what you have and entertain retaking if you don't get picked. Your combined GPA and ASTB are higher than the average getting picked up.
