Is anyone taking the ASTB that is near the Las Cruces, NM/ El Paso area? I could use a study buddy to prepare for the test nest week.
Well done!9/9/9/68.
First post after reading this thread for a while to prepare for the ASTB. Took the test today, 9/9/9/68. The study guides found on this site were very helpful, as well as this link:

For the arithmetic sections are you allowed to use any sort of scratch paper or anything to write down computations, or is everything to be done in your head?
Best scores i've seen, congrats. Do you know which form you had? How tough was the aviation knowledge section?
I'm pretty sure that I had form 5, though I'm honestly not sure (my attention was elsewhere). My supplemental section was all aviation type questions, and a lot of them dealt with random FAA stuff. The actual aviation section was pretty straight forward, some of the practice tests were harder.
Im getting ready to take the ASTB the end of July could you send any study materials to heaven.manley@yahoo.com thanksJust took it for the second time today. I had a lot more time to study this time around. My scores went from 7/7/7 and 57 on form 5 to 9/8/8 and 71 on form 3.
For study materials I would recommend the Barron's book, the Peterson's book and the study guide someone posted on here (sorry the name escapes me, that poster deserves a ton of credit). Anyone with questions feel free to ask here or PM me
