Hey, I have this pdf that may help I am not sure if it will change but when you take the test IT WILL TELL YOU THE PROCEDURES AND HOW TO CLEAR THEM It did so for me when I took my last 2 tests if you are unsure write it down when you are there on some leftover scratch paper from math I hope that will help you out. I took the UAV portion and didn't keep my cool all the way through I got 3 misses in an attempt to go as fast as I can. relax and make sure its right keep your head clear and do well !https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ACJt4IdCkPjU2lkCQMdb8AJX_MzsS_nN/view?usp=share_link
These notes seem really helpful! But i was wondering what fix for the top button on the propeller means. The upside down T. Im doing my first attempt on Thursday.

Top knob (fuel) set to the middle of the gauge. There’s three zones (low, middle, high) and you’ll want your fuel gauge in the middle.

Well I just took my first attempt on the ASTB. Ended up getting a 46 4/5/5

I honestly didn’t expect much out of my math and mechanical comprehension as I did not study that much on those sections. During my OAR there was a toddler throwing a tantrum in the next room so that didn’t help. I brought noise canceling headphone but for some reason I did not ask to use them.

My math sections was mostly fractions and roots with some probability. It kicked me out with probably 6 or 7 minutes left.

Reading comp was boring and some answers sounded exactly the same. Finished with 10 sec.

Mechanical comprehension I don’t even want to start on. I was very confused on this section and did not know what some of the questions were even asking.

Now the rest of the ASTB is where I thought I would excel. I studied a lot for the ANIT and thought I maybe only missed 1 or 2.

UAV sections had the offset patterns but I did a lot of practice and did not miss any. The weirdest thing for this section is even if I clicked instantly it would say 2 or 3 seconds. Sometimes even 4. As I was going through this section I kept thinking to myself I am doing this a lot faster than what it’s telling me so if anyone has any insight on that I would really appreciate it.

Listening section all together maybe got 2 or 3 wrong. It was alot harder than I thought with the voices talking pretty much at the same time. My tracking for both stick and throttle felt really good as it was mostly green and I wrote down each emergency procedures and they were in the order it listed on the directions and cleared them all within a second or two.

Overall I’m alittle disappointed. I knew my oar was not going to be that good going but I really thought my pfar and fofar would Atleast be a 6. I think that just means that parts of the OAR do weigh pretty heavily on the rest of the test or I didn’t do as good as I thought I did on the uav and stick and throttle. I’ll be waiting a few months to take it again and will be studying for the oar a lot more frequently. If anyone has any advice or insight on my score I’d greatly appreciate it. Cheers

For the UAV, did you rely on the voice to tell you which direction? I did this on my first attempt and my times were slow. On my second attempt I read the directions and was averaging 1.5 s

Honestly half way through I realized I was waiting for the voice and I looked around if it told me before the voice and I couldn’t find it. It might’ve been I was focused on clicking so I didn’t see the direction but next time I’ll keep that in mind that they put the direction on the screen. That’s probably it thank you haha.

Howdy, just got done taking it the 2nd time and I got 9/9/9. First time round I got 7/6/7 and I got a lot of help from this forum so I just wanted to share some advice/gouge.

Overall
- BUY THE APP, I cannot say it enough
- Get yourself a joystick and practice on the Jantzen sim
- Practice as much and as often as you can
- The gouge on this thread is very useful, look it over and use it to help guide your studying.
- Some specific stuff that stood out below

Math
- Conversions from Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa
- Lots of geometry

Reading
- Select the most true answer, pay attention to small details
- Process of elimination helped out a lot, almost ran out of time

Physics
- Lots of levers and pulleys

Aviation/Nautical
- Pretty straightforward, know the parts of planes/ships and what they do

PBM
- Also pretty straightforward, use the usual tricks
- Draw the compass, write out the emergency procedures, set the knobs in advance
- Tilt your head to the listening ear
- Be aggressive but don't lose your cool, it kinda helped me to stare past the screen and use my peripheral vision sometimes.

I hope these tips can be helpful and thank you to the creators of the ASTB Prep App, Jantzen Sim and various posters on this thread!

Hey man, fellow Aggie here. I also got the app a while back but I've been mainly using Kyle's gouge. Did you use the app for math/mechanical/ANIT too or just the UAV portion? Still trying to decide if it's worth using the app for those portions. Thanks and gig 'em

I used the app for everything. It has lessons, adaptive tests, flash cards, the whole 9 yards. The app and the Jantzen sim made up probably 95% of my preparation overall

Can someone please help me out with the emergency procedure. do you have to rotate the Eknob or Iknob or do I have to just push it to put the fire out.
