Is the Jantzen sim harder or easier than the real thing? I do like that the option exists to practice, especially as I already have a HOTAS, but there’s different speeds, and settings to everything. What is realistic to the actual ASTB?
For the most part harder. Practice on full difficulty and the test will be a breeze.

Just got out of taking the ASTB! I only studied for about a month 3-5 hours a week, if that. Highly wish I studied more (it’s a long story)
Score: 39 4/7/5
BA: Communications - 3.2 GPA
Here’s my two cents and I’ll try make it short:

Study like you can’t fail. What do I mean? Take this test as if it’s your only shot (you get 3, but most recent score is taken)

MATH: fractions, what is the car worth after X amount of years, can’t recall much but I’d say ASTB app/Gomez drive will help you.

READING: Use the Gomez drive and honestly really focus on the answers and then read the paragraph.

MECHANICAL: Really simple stuff, no calculations but looking at my AQR, can’t say I passed this haha

ANIT: Used the ASTB/CRAM app but I kid you not, I only had like 3 questions from it on the actual test. Should’ve looked into other materials like others have stated in previous posts. So please do that

PBMs: ASTB app was great, HOWEVER for the UAV portion (maybe because I was mentally getting tired) felt somewhat hard. I did the UAV trick from YouTube but idk, felt off. I also love playing Microsoft flight simulator, so that and the JENTZEN (I think I got that right) website also helped.

Overall, I plan on retaking test but I’ll take my chances with the score for now, since there’s a board in September. So any advice or motivation would be greatly appreciated! Feel free to reach out with any questions.

None of the ASTB or Cram flash cards was on the ANIT part?

I'd consider retaking the OAR part at least. Some applicants did well in the other 3 categories but had an OAR score in the 40s and didn't get picked up. Since you have time until the next board, I'd recommended studying and retaking at least the OAR part.

I do have question for current active duty, do I need to do the NAVCRUIT 1131/12 Anthropometric Measurements, Color Vision, and Depth Perception included for my package Applying for SNA/SNFO or that's gonna happen during OCS?
I'm not AD, I'm going through I-SEL but for what its worth, I had to do MEPS before I could submit my package. Did color vision and depth perception but not anthropometric measurements. Not sure how your path will differ but that was my experience

Just finished my second attempt of the ASTB.
My scores were as follows:
OAR: 43
AQR: 5
PFAR: 9
FOFAR: 6
LPSS: 80

B.S Psychology, Florida State University
3.211 GPA

Does anyone have a clue if these scores/gpa would be competitive for SNA for an upcoming board? I genuinely do not know what to think. My goal was to get all 7's for immediate select, but that did not go as planned. Let me know!

Does anyone recommend that I should take it again, for my last and final attempt?

I'd take a look at some of the recent boards to gage how to stack up

You need to be physically qualified prior to going to board.
