I was in the same situation but after ending an endless amount of emails and making phone call after phone call I was able to get my degree completion expedited. I don't know if this is possible for you/anyone else, but it's something worth looking into if people are having issues with their colleges taking a long time to process. Mine was slated to be processed NLT June 24th and I'm suppose to be the June 10th class so that was unacceptable. Still don't have my FINSEL but my recruiter has my transcripts, just playing the waiting game again.

I went through the same process. I wanted to sort everything out with a 'letter of completion' ASAP with my recruiter, and it legitimately took 3 hours on the phone and a week's worth of emails. I was forwarded to the dance school by mistake twice by two different people, no joke.

I was then informed by my academic adviser that I was missing TWO courses required for graduation. This is AFTER graduation ceremonies and my application for graduation had been accepted. My previous adviser, no longer associated with the university, had advised me to take the wrong course to satisfy a credit, which fortunately I was able to receive via petition, citing mis-advisement.

The other course I had actually enrolled in, but was dis-enrolled overnight and 'notified by email' that the course had switched to an online format. That email went to the incorrect address, so I never took the class. It's my responsibility to know what classes I'm supposed to take, but still very obnoxious. I'm going to have to take it in June with one of my professors who will hopefully work with me in a special program.

If I had NOT done this, I wouldn't have even found out for months that I didn't have the credits I needed to graduate, and I would be in an even worse position. The lesson here is trust but verify everything your academic adviser tells you. I should have just printed the course list myself and filled the form out myself. Turns out 'letting the expert handle it' is a misnomer.

I thought that there would be at least some kind of check designed to prevent this sort of situation happening, but apparently even the 'application for graduation' is just a formality.

The big take-away is, do this!! Go get your letter of completion, because odds are the school doesn't even know if you actually graduated, only you do.

Anyone have any friends that recently graduated OCS that could provide an accurate CoC? Positions for 9-15 are pretty easy to find but I'm curious how accurate my findings are for CO of OTCN and lower. When looking on the OTCN website I noticed it says the CO is CPT Nicholson which contradicts information I found as of December, 2017. Anyone know which is more current?

That’s a pretty good list. Not sure how much more accurate you could get, especially with the lower positions. Folks here on AW might have what you’re looking for.

I guess my main question is whether there has been any change in command at OTCN over the past few months since the documents I originally saw stated that CPT Savageaux was the CO, but I'm now seeing online that CPT Nicholson is the CO. Not a big deal, but I was looking for clarification on that.

Did any of y'all struggle connecting with your regional SSO? I've been sent down a rabbit hole with three different folks who have either retired or don't do interviews anymore. I had one done over the phone in December and the cat sort of fell off the face of the Earth.

Have you contacted your OR yet? I had some difficulties getting in touch with other personnel, until I contacted my OR. Within hours my OR got me in touch with the person/cat who fell off the face of the Earth.

If I am not mistaken, there was a Change of Command for OTC Newport within the last few weeks. I saw it on their facebook page, so CPT Nicholson is the new CO.

What interview are you talking about? My OR hasn't mentioned anything about an interview.
