1001 questions (and answers) concerning BDCP

Hey everybody, I’m a current reservist applying for BDCP hopefully this August board, but I was just informed that my conditional release has to be routed to PERS-913 in Millington and signed before I can go to MEPS. Has anyone else had this issue? Who should I reach out to. Have already spoken with my recruiter, CCC, and my CO. If anyone knows anything about this it would be super helpful!

Yes this is a MEPS requirement. Why not get your physical done at the reserve center?

Just took the ASTB and scored 62/8/9/7 the whole time I felt like I was doing horrendous because of my stick and throttle performance. Did not expect that score at all.
Congrats! Did you use the ASTB Study Prep app? What did you use to study the stick and throttle section? I have a hundred questions for you if you'd want to answer them.

I used a bunch of the google drives, ASTB prep app on ios, as well as tbas study pro on steam combined with a cheap hotas i got on marketplace (t16000m but the actual test uses the logitech x52 with a super high sensitivity) Sure ask away

Did you practice the rearcockpit on the Prep App? What percentage of time were you tracking? Same for ANIT practice test on the Prep App. What scores were you getting on those? What did you use most for the ANIT prep? I took the ASTB a few weeks ago but BOMBED it, I got a 5/5/4, so I am doing my damndest to get an amazing score in the beginning of August. Ive been studying hard on what I was weak on, I just want to know the score you were getting on practice tests to get the fantastic score you had.

I did not practice rear cockpit in the app since I wanted to have the muscle memory of using the joystick inverted like the actual test is. As for the ANIT I did study using the prep app (might’ve scored like an 70-80 percent most of the time) and some gouges for the naval questions but for the actual aviation knowledge I relied on ground school knowledge from flight school. I’d say the prep app has really good info but if you want the most possible the PHAK is free from the FAA and has almost everything. The problem with the PHAK is that it is so dense with useful information so maybe a free ground course might make the content more digestible.

Ive seen others recommend the FAA booklet too. Ill start studying that ASAP. When you say the app isn't inverted, do you mean pushing the yolk forward makes the cursor go down, and pulling the yolk aft makes the cursor go up? If so, the app does that for me. I just plug my HOTAS stick and throttle into my phone, and it works like that.

Yeah, the app seems to be the same as the test then. I never tried plugging it into my phone, to be honest, so that's cool that it has that functionality. I didn't think you could on the app.
