OCS 11AUG25 IWC BOARD // Nerd Thunderdome 2025

That is an awful experience, communication is key in the military both up and down and side to side. The smart recruiters want to get an application done and out of their hands so they aren't juggling multiple candidates in the same stages.

What rank was this recruiter.
NCC (AW/SW). It was frustrating, but honestly not surprising. Pretty much matched what people had warned me about before starting this process.

If you meet someone from NRC there can you get them to send results via telegram, pony messenger, or perhaps hot air balloon? I would even take results if they appeared cryptically in a newspaper crosswords puzzle
Lol I doubt any of them would make their way to Oklahoma (yes the Navy is in OK, been here 7 years for my husband - you really never know where you can get sent with orders 🤪) but I will def keep my eyes and ears open!! But agreed....like any sort of way is totally fine with me!!!!

I had to contact my OR this morning for some other paperwork. He’s told me a lot of peeps are pissed off waiting for results.😂🤣
My recruiter reached out recently and said he’s been checking every day but there are still no results. He even emailed them for an update, but they replied that there’s no date when the results will be out. He’s hoping we’ll get the results sometime within the next week or so.

It's kinda "interesting" that when I submitted my package this Feb, my OR told me if I get selected I will be shipping by this July.
I don't blame him, since he was doing his best to help me.
My MEPS medical is expiring in a couple of weeks so I guess I'm gonna have to gather my medical docs again.
I just hope the waiver Admiral Waters approved gets approved again :/ No changes in condition so far and it was the only one waiver I had.

I had a guaranteed option for the Army National Guard with an OCS contract but I wanted to go active and had to break someone's heart. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice LOL. In terms of serving, it would still count but I just wanted to go for a full-time service.

Anyway, hang in there everybody!
Wait so are you sure that your application was completed? Does your recruiter have any clue why the I-SEL process is taking so long?

Yes. The recruiter told me that my kit was submitted to the board and if it means anything, after maybe 7-8 weeks since I got the word I was contacted by an investigator for a Secret Clearance background check.
Given that my kit was submitted in mid Feb this year, there would have been plenty of time for me to get word if anything was missing or there were issues with my package.
As for the I-SEL process, I have no clue. What's certain is that everyone who's applied to the board are just waiting.
Even my OR sounded frustrated.

I have been in I-SEL under review since Friday, how long do these typically take?

If you think waiting 3 weeks and change is bad, imagine how folks who’ve been waiting to go before the board for 11 months now are feeling…

Not gonna lie, between the avalanche of designators not getting looks now until next year and yet another federal-level fiscal frick-fest looming, applying to OCS in 2025 feels less like a coherent, established process than it does a mad dash to the last chopper leaving Saigon…

Tell me about it. I went to MEPS in Oct 2023 and was cleared for medical last July for the Navy and it was just another beginning of endless waiting.
I was in my last semester of grad school and had to bust my ass to finish up my graduation project + some personal issues and other military-related paperwork ate up time that I was able to finally submit my kit this Feb. Now boards are getting moved around here and there only to make things take longer.

Since I wasted nearly a year to be a crayon eater just to get dropped, I have to go to MEPS again as my medical is expiring tomorrow LOL.
At least it's a good thing that I'm used to how slow the government can be as I learned it the hard way when I was working on my greencard and naturalization :-)
